Two separate age verification laws were enacted on January 1 in South Carolina and Montana, both requiring users to confirm their age with third-party or "digitized" verification. "Unfortunately, the way many jurisdictions worldwide have chosen to implement age verification is ineffective, haphazard, and dangerous."
